Glenturret sits beside the River Turret just outside Crieff, in the southern Highlands, and claims 1763 as its founding year. For many years it was owned by Edrington and was the home of The Famous Grouse visitor experience. In 2019 it was bought by the Lalique Group together with Hansjörg Wyss, who have relaunched the whisky and opened a restaurant on site.
It is a small distillery with a traditional approach, and water is drawn from Loch Turret above it. The house style is fresh, honeyed and lightly fruity, while a peated spirit is also produced and appears in releases such as the 10 Year Old Peat Smoked, the 7 Years Peat Smoked and The Peated Edition.
The current official range includes Triple Wood, matured in a mix of cask types and released in annual editions, and older bottlings such as The 30 Year Old, also released by year. Older official bottlings like The 18 Year Old from the 1990s and The Manager's Dram turn up on the secondary market.
Glenturret is also bottled by independent bottlers, including Signatory Vintage's Cask Strength Collection, Douglas Laing's Old Particular, Gordon & MacPhail, Berry Bros. & Rudd, Càrn Mòr and That Boutique-y Whisky Company. These single casks are a good way to see the spirit at older ages and different strengths.

About whiskies
Whisky (or whiskey) is a distilled alcoholic beverage made from fermented grain mash. Various grains are used including barley, corn, rye, and wheat. Whisky is typically aged in wooden casks, which gives it its distinctive color and complex flavor profile.
Each bottling represents a unique expression with specific characteristics like age, cask type, and alcohol strength.
