Signatory Vintage was founded in Edinburgh in 1988 by Andrew Symington, together with his brother Brian. In 2002 Andrew Symington bought the Edradour distillery near Pitlochry, and the bottling business moved there, where casks are stored and bottled on site.
Signatory buys casks from distilleries across Scotland and is known for clearly labelled releases giving distillery, distillation and bottling dates, and cask numbers. Many of its bottlings are single casks or small vattings of two or three casks. Our catalogue includes Linkwood, Mortlach, Caol Ila, Glenlivet, Benrinnes and Clynelish, as well as Staoisha, the peated spirit from Bunnahabhain.
The ranges are built around strength and presentation. The Un-Chillfiltered Collection is bottled at 46% without chill filtration, the Cask Strength Collection is bottled straight from the cask, and the 100 Proof Edition is bottled at 57.1%. There are also Small Batch Editions, rare old single casks under the Rare Reserve name, and Symington's Choice.
As owner of Edradour, the same team also bottles Edradour and its peated sister Ballechin, so the bottler and the distillery are closely linked.

About whiskies
Whisky (or whiskey) is a distilled alcoholic beverage made from fermented grain mash. Various grains are used including barley, corn, rye, and wheat. Whisky is typically aged in wooden casks, which gives it its distinctive color and complex flavor profile.
Each bottling represents a unique expression with specific characteristics like age, cask type, and alcohol strength.
