Glenallachie was built in 1967 near Aberlour in Speyside, designed by William Delmé-Evans. For decades it made malt mainly for blends, latterly under Pernod Ricard's Chivas Brothers.
In 2017 it was bought by a small group led by industry veteran Billy Walker, together with Trisha Savage and Graham Stevenson. Since then it has built up a full range of official single malts, with a strong focus on sherry casks, wine casks and cask finishes, and many single cask releases.
The spirit itself is fairly robust and fruity, which suits heavy cask influence. Official bottlings a buyer meets include age statements such as the 8, 15 and 25 year olds, distillery editions and single casks, including experiments with Scottish virgin oak and chinquapin oak.
Glenallachie is also common from independent bottlers. Our catalogue lists releases from Signatory Vintage, Gordon & MacPhail, Douglas Laing, Hunter Laing, Duncan Taylor, Murray McDavid (Benchmark), Cadenhead's Authentic Collection, That Boutique-y Whisky Company, Darkness and Symington's Choice.

About whiskies
Whisky (or whiskey) is a distilled alcoholic beverage made from fermented grain mash. Various grains are used including barley, corn, rye, and wheat. Whisky is typically aged in wooden casks, which gives it its distinctive color and complex flavor profile.
Each bottling represents a unique expression with specific characteristics like age, cask type, and alcohol strength.
