The Vintage Malt Whisky Company is an independent bottler based in Scotland. Like other independents, it does not distil its own spirit: it sources whisky from distilleries across Scotland and bottles it under its own labels, so the choice of cask and the way it is bottled are its responsibility.
Its best known series is The Cooper's Choice, a range of mostly single cask bottlings that state the distillery, vintage, age and cask number on the label. Releases in our catalogue include whiskies from Caol Ila, Ardmore, Deanston, Bunnahabhain, Inchgower and Loch Lomond, as well as single grain from Cameronbridge, such as a 35 year old from 1984. Some bottlings are vattings or blends of casks, such as the "Sherried Smoke" release, and The Golden Cut Collection is a sub-series within Cooper's Choice.
The company also bottles Finlaggan, an Islay single malt sold without naming the distillery it comes from. Buyers will find Finlaggan in several versions, including Original, Old Reserve, Sherrywood and Portwood, the last two having spent time in sherry or port casks.
Because Cooper's Choice releases are mostly single casks, each one differs, and the label details are the best guide to what is in the bottle.

About whiskies
Whisky (or whiskey) is a distilled alcoholic beverage made from fermented grain mash. Various grains are used including barley, corn, rye, and wheat. Whisky is typically aged in wooden casks, which gives it its distinctive color and complex flavor profile.
Each bottling represents a unique expression with specific characteristics like age, cask type, and alcohol strength.
