Inchgower stands near the fishing town of Buckie, close to the Moray Firth coast, on the eastern edge of Speyside. It was founded in 1871 and today belongs to Diageo. Most of its output has long been used for blending, above all in Bell's.
The spirit is unpeated but on the firmer, oilier side for Speyside, and drinkers often describe a coastal, faintly salty note alongside malt, nuts and spice. It is a malt that tends to show its character more in older, cask-strength bottlings than in young ones.
Official bottlings are scarce. The best known is the Flora & Fauna 14 Year Old, and older collectors will meet bottles such as the Inchgower 12 Year Old bottled in the 1980s. Diageo has also released occasional older limited editions.
Most Inchgower a buyer will see comes from independent bottlers. Douglas Laing (Old Particular), Hunter Laing (First Editions), Signatory Vintage (Cask Strength Collection and Vintage Casks), Gordon & MacPhail, Berry Bros. & Rudd, James Eadie, Mossburn and The Vintage Malt Whisky Co. all bottle it, often as single casks at a range of ages.

About whiskies
Whisky (or whiskey) is a distilled alcoholic beverage made from fermented grain mash. Various grains are used including barley, corn, rye, and wheat. Whisky is typically aged in wooden casks, which gives it its distinctive color and complex flavor profile.
Each bottling represents a unique expression with specific characteristics like age, cask type, and alcohol strength.
