Master of Malt is best known as one of the UK's larger online spirits shops, based in Tunbridge Wells in Kent. Alongside selling other people's bottles, it has long released whiskies under its own name. It belongs to the same group as That Boutique-y Whisky Company and the Drinks by the Dram tasting sets.
As an independent bottler it does not distil. It selects casks from other producers and bottles them under its own label, so the choice of cask and the bottling decisions are its own. Most of its releases in our catalogue are single casks, labelled with age and vintage, such as the 16 Year Old 2006 Single Cask or the 27 Year Old 1991 Single Cask.
The distilleries it has bottled include Bruichladdich (also as Port Charlotte, for example the Port Charlotte 13 Year Old 2004 Burgundy cask), Bunnahabhain, Tobermory, Dailuaine, Macallan, Glenrothes, Loch Lomond's Inchmurrin and the North British grain distillery. Strength and filtration vary from cask to cask, so check each label.
There are also broader, undisclosed vattings such as Speyside Single Malt and Islay Single Malt, which offer a regional style at a lower price than named single casks.

About whiskies
Whisky (or whiskey) is a distilled alcoholic beverage made from fermented grain mash. Various grains are used including barley, corn, rye, and wheat. Whisky is typically aged in wooden casks, which gives it its distinctive color and complex flavor profile.
Each bottling represents a unique expression with specific characteristics like age, cask type, and alcohol strength.
