Malts of Scotland is an independent bottler based in Germany. It does not distil. It selects casks of Scotch whisky from many distilleries and bottles them under its own label, so the choice of cask and the moment of bottling are its responsibility.
Its typical release is a single cask, labelled with distillery, vintage, age and cask number, like the 13 Year Old 2010 (cask 11276) or the 23 Year Old 1995 (cask 10201) in our catalogue. Distilleries met here include Caol Ila, Ardmore, Linkwood, Bruichladdich, Tobermory, Ben Nevis and Mannochmore, as well as the closed Imperial and the Braes of Glenlivet name used for Braeval.
Buyers should note that the name is easy to confuse with Single Malts of Scotland, a separate range from Speciality Drinks (now Elixir Distillers). Some bottles listed under this name in our catalogue, such as the Reserve Casks parcels, the Elements of Islay Pl5 (Port Charlotte) and the 25 Year Old Marriage, belong to that other range. Check the label when comparing prices.

About whiskies
Whisky (or whiskey) is a distilled alcoholic beverage made from fermented grain mash. Various grains are used including barley, corn, rye, and wheat. Whisky is typically aged in wooden casks, which gives it its distinctive color and complex flavor profile.
Each bottling represents a unique expression with specific characteristics like age, cask type, and alcohol strength.
