Copperworks Distilling Company is based on the Seattle waterfront in Washington State. It was founded by people from the craft brewing world, and that background shapes how the distillery works.
The spirit is made from 100% malted barley, much of it grown and malted in the Pacific Northwest. The team brews its own wash much as a brewery would make beer, then distills it in copper pot stills. The aim is American single malt that shows the character of the barley and the cask.
Buyers will mostly meet numbered small batch releases such as Copperworks Release 046, and single casks like Cask 332 and Cask 356, the latter bottled exclusively for The Whisky Exchange. Our catalogue also lists the Maltsmith, Farmsmith, Peatsmith, Color Cask and Port Cask expressions.
Copperworks is mostly bottled by the distillery itself, but it has also appeared from independent bottlers such as That Boutique-y Whisky Company and Master of Malt, including a 3 Year Old single cask from 2015.
