The Loch Fyne is the house label of Loch Fyne Whiskies, a specialist whisky shop in Inveraray on the shores of Loch Fyne in Argyll. Besides selling other people's whisky, the shop has long bottled whisky under its own name.
As an independent bottler it selects casks from distilleries around Scotland and releases them, often as limited single casks in 50cl bottles. In our catalogue these include Bunnahabhain, Glentauchers, Tobermory, Knockdhu, Fettercairn, Glen Elgin, Craigellachie and Mannochmore, as well as very old grain whisky from Invergordon and North of Scotland.
The Living Cask is the shop's best-known idea: a vatting kept going over time, with whisky drawn off and the cask topped up again, so each numbered batch follows on from the one before. The Loch Fyne blend is the shop's own blended Scotch, sold in an old-style presentation.
Most releases are small, so they turn up mainly through the shop itself and a few retailers, and earlier batches of The Living Cask are of interest to collectors.

About whiskies
Whisky (or whiskey) is a distilled alcoholic beverage made from fermented grain mash. Various grains are used including barley, corn, rye, and wheat. Whisky is typically aged in wooden casks, which gives it its distinctive color and complex flavor profile.
Each bottling represents a unique expression with specific characteristics like age, cask type, and alcohol strength.
