Langside is a Scottish independent bottler with roots in the Laing family, one of the long-established names in the Scotch whisky cask trade. It works by selecting individual casks from Scottish distilleries and bottling them under its own labels.
The range a buyer meets most often is Hepburn's Choice: mostly younger single casks, often six to thirteen years old, aimed at showing a distillery's spirit simply and at a fair price. These are commonly reduced to around 46% rather than bottled at full cask strength.
Distiller's Art is the older, more limited line, with whiskies of around twenty years and more, such as a 20 Year Old from 1996 or a Braeval distilled in 2002.
The distilleries in our catalogue are mostly Speyside and Highland workhorses that are rarely bottled as single malts by their owners: Auchroisk, Miltonduff, Aultmore, Glenburgie, Glentauchers, Inchgower and Fettercairn, alongside Mortlach. That makes Langside a useful way to taste these lesser-seen malts.

About whiskies
Whisky (or whiskey) is a distilled alcoholic beverage made from fermented grain mash. Various grains are used including barley, corn, rye, and wheat. Whisky is typically aged in wooden casks, which gives it its distinctive color and complex flavor profile.
Each bottling represents a unique expression with specific characteristics like age, cask type, and alcohol strength.
