St. Kilian Distillers is in Rüdenau, a village in Lower Franconia in northern Bavaria. It started distilling in the mid-2010s and has become one of the better-known names in German single malt.
The distillery makes both unpeated and peated spirit, including heavily peated batches, and matures in a wide range of cask types. Its whisky is generally released young, at around five or six years old.
In the official range buyers meet the Signature Edition series and age-stated releases such as the 5 Year Old. St. Kilian is also known for music collaborations: there are several Judas Priest bottlings, including British Steel, Invincible Shield and the 50 Heavy Metal Years edition, as well as Scorpions Rock Believer and Grave Digger releases such as Bone Collector, a heavily peated single malt.
St. Kilian is also bottled by independent bottlers. Adelphi has released single casks, including a 2017 unpeated cask, and That Boutique-y Whisky Company has included it in its range.
