Adelphi

Adelphi takes its name from the Adelphi distillery in Glasgow, which closed in the early twentieth century. The name was revived in the 1990s as an independent bottling company, and the same owners later built the Ardnamurchan distillery on the west coast of the Highlands.

Adelphi does not distill the whiskies it bottles under its own label. It selects casks from distilleries across Scotland, and occasionally beyond, and bottles them under the Adelphi name. Its single casks are usually bottled at cask strength, without chill filtration and without added colouring, with the cask number, vintage and age shown on the label.

The main range is the Adelphi Selection, single casks from distilleries such as Caol Ila, Bunnahabhain, Clynelish, Linkwood, Glen Elgin, Benrinnes, Dailuaine and Teaninich. The catalogue also shows bottlings from outside Scotland, such as a Westland single cask from the United States, and older releases under the Adelphi Limited name.

Besides single casks, Adelphi offers blends and blended malts, among them Private Stock Reserve and Breath of Islay, which give a lower priced way into the house style.
