Ledaig is made at Tobermory distillery, the only distillery on the Isle of Mull. Ledaig was the distillery's original name, and today it is used for the heavily peated spirit, while unpeated whisky is sold as Tobermory.
The distillery sits on the harbour of Tobermory town and produces both styles in the same stills, running peated and unpeated spirit at different times of the year. It underwent a refurbishment and a pause in production around 2017 to 2019.
Ledaig is smoky, with a briny, earthy and sometimes medicinal character, often lighter on the palate than the Islay malts it is compared with. The official range starts with the 10 Years, with older bottlings such as the 18 year old and cask finished releases like the 13 Year Old Amontillado Cask Finish and the 21 Year Old Manzanilla Cask Finish.
Independent bottlings are plentiful. Signatory Vintage, Gordon & MacPhail's Connoisseurs Choice, Murray McDavid and bottlings for The Whisky Exchange all appear in our catalogue, sometimes labelled "Ledaig (Tobermory)".

About whiskies
Whisky (or whiskey) is a distilled alcoholic beverage made from fermented grain mash. Various grains are used including barley, corn, rye, and wheat. Whisky is typically aged in wooden casks, which gives it its distinctive color and complex flavor profile.
Each bottling represents a unique expression with specific characteristics like age, cask type, and alcohol strength.
