Glen Ord stands in the village of Muir of Ord, on the edge of the Black Isle north-west of Inverness. It dates from 1838 and today belongs to Diageo. Next to the distillery is a large maltings that supplies malted barley to Glen Ord and to other Diageo distilleries.
The distillery was greatly expanded in the 2010s and now ranks among the bigger malt distilleries in Scotland. Much of its spirit goes into Diageo blends. The single malt tends to be rounded and fruity, often with a malty, slightly spicy character.
Over the years the official single malt has carried different names. Older bottles appear as Glenordie or Glen Ord 12 Year Old, while today it is sold as The Singleton of Glen Ord, a range long aimed at Asian markets. Diageo has also used it in limited series such as The Managers' Choice and its Special Releases.
Independent bottlings are fairly common. Our catalogue includes casks from Douglas Laing (Old Malt Cask), Signatory Vintage (Un-Chillfiltered Collection), Càrn Mòr, James Eadie, Decadent Drinks, Berry Bros. & Rudd, Master of Malt and The Vintage Malt Whisky Co.

About whiskies
Whisky (or whiskey) is a distilled alcoholic beverage made from fermented grain mash. Various grains are used including barley, corn, rye, and wheat. Whisky is typically aged in wooden casks, which gives it its distinctive color and complex flavor profile.
Each bottling represents a unique expression with specific characteristics like age, cask type, and alcohol strength.
