The Singleton is a single malt brand owned by Diageo. Rather than coming from one distillery, it is a family of single malts, each named after the distillery that makes it: The Singleton of Dufftown, The Singleton of Glen Ord and The Singleton of Glendullan.
Dufftown and Glendullan both sit in the Speyside town of Dufftown, while Glen Ord is in the northern Highlands near Muir of Ord. Each whisky is distilled and matured by Diageo at its own distillery. The brand aims for a rounded, easy-drinking style, often with a good share of sherry cask influence.
The ranges you will meet most often are the Singleton of Dufftown 12yo and 15Y, along with no-age-statement bottlings such as Spey Cascade, Sunray, Tailfire, Malt Master's Selection and The Andalucia Reserva. These are everyday bottles at friendly prices.
At the other end sit rare, older releases, many from Diageo's annual Special Releases, such as the Singleton of Glen Ord 17yo Special Release 2025 Into The Blue, the Glen Ord 40yo and the Glendullan 38yo Special Release 2014. These are aimed at collectors and are priced accordingly.
