Ironroot Republic Distillery is based in Denison, in north Texas, close to the Oklahoma border. It was founded by brothers Jonathan and Robert Likarish and has become one of the better known names in Texas whiskey.
The distillery puts a strong focus on grain, working with heirloom and unusual corn varieties, and takes an approach to blending inspired by European spirits traditions. The hot Texas climate pushes whiskey into the wood quickly, giving rich, bold flavours at relatively young ages.
Its own straight bourbons include Harbinger, bottled at 115 proof, and Promethean at 100 proof. Alongside these, Ironroot makes blends such as Sleight of Hand Straight Bourbon Whiskey Blend and Assemblage Straight Rye Whiskey Blend, which combine different straight whiskeys. The Cellar Reserve Triple Cask Finish and the Saints Alley bottlings round out the range.
