Dramfool is a small independent bottler from Scotland. It works on a modest scale, releasing limited bottlings drawn from individual casks or small batches rather than a large permanent range.
Bruichladdich is at the heart of its list. The Jim McEwan Signature Collection brings together Bruichladdich, Port Charlotte and Octomore casks, named after the distiller long associated with Bruichladdich, with release names such as Octomore 9.3, Port Charlotte 9.2 and 6.1. These range from the heavily peated Octomore style to unpeated Bruichladdich.
Alongside the Islay casks, Dramfool has bottled whisky from Wolfburn and Ben Nevis, and older grain whisky from Invergordon and North British. The Middle Cut releases cover a wide span of ages, from the young Red Bag 4 Year Old 2020 to 32 and 36 year old bottlings.
As with any independent bottler, each release depends on the cask chosen, so strength, cask type and character vary from bottle to bottle. Buyers should check the label details of each release.
