Glen Moray liegt am Ufer des Flusses Lossie in Elgin. Die Brennerei entstand aus einer ehemaligen Brauerei und nahm 1897 den Betrieb auf. Über weite Teile des 20. Jahrhunderts gehörte sie dem Unternehmen hinter Glenmorangie, seit 2008 ist sie im Besitz des französischen Konzerns La Martiniquaise.
Der Hausstil ist leicht, fruchtig und sanft, typisch für Speyside, und reift hauptsächlich in ehemaligen Bourbonfässern. Die Brennerei ist außerdem dafür bekannt geworden, mit verschiedenen Abgangsvarianten und torfigem Destillat zu experimentieren.
Das offizielle „Elgin Classic“-Sortiment ist weit verbreitet und preisgünstig, mit Varianten wie dem „Classic“, „Peated“, „Port Cask“ und „Chardonnay Cask Finish“. Darüber liegen ältere Jahrgänge und limitierte Auflagen, und die „Private Cask Collection“ bietet offizielle Single Casks an.
Glen Moray wird außerdem regelmäßig von unabhängigen Abfüllern abgefüllt, darunter Duncan Taylor, Douglas Laing, Hunter Laing, Berry Bros. & Rudd, That Boutique-y Whisky Company und The Vintage Malt Whisky Company, oft als Single Casks.
