Garnheath was a grain distillery in the Moffat complex near Airdrie, Lanarkshire, built in the mid 1960s by Inver House alongside the Glen Flagler and Killyloch malt stills. It produced grain whisky for blends and was closed and demolished in the 1980s.
As a grain whisky made in column stills, Garnheath is lighter than malt. After decades in cask the surviving bottlings tend to be soft and sweet, with plenty of wood influence.
There were no regular official releases. What buyers find are single casks from independent bottlers, above all Douglas Laing's Xtra Old Particular range, with a run of 1974 vintage casks bottled at 41 to 49 years old. Càrn Mòr, That Boutique-y Whisky Company and The Vintage Malt Whisky Company have also bottled it.
