Grant's

Grant's is the blended Scotch whisky of William Grant & Sons, the independent family company that William Grant founded in 1887 when he built the Glenfiddich distillery in Dufftown. The company is still owned and run by his descendants and Grant's is one of the best selling blended Scotch whiskies in the world.

The blend draws on the company's own distilleries: malt whisky from its Speyside sites such as Glenfiddich, Balvenie and Kininvie, and grain whisky from its Girvan distillery on the Ayrshire coast. Blending and bottling take place at the company's own facilities in Scotland. The triangular bottle has been the brand's trademark since the 1950s.

Family Reserve is the everyday bottling that most buyers know: a smooth, gently fruity blend for drinking neat, with ice or in mixed drinks. Triple Wood is matured in three types of oak, and you will also find flavoured or special editions such as Orange and the Distillery Edition.

Collectors look for older Grant's: the Royal Doulton character jugs holding a 25 year old blend, the Castle Grant 21 year old from the 1980s and Superior Strength bottlings from the 1990s. These turn up at auction and are priced well above the current range.
