Boann Distillery is a family-owned distillery near Drogheda, in the Boyne Valley on Ireland's east coast. It takes its name from Boann, the figure of Irish myth linked to the River Boyne. The distillery is run by the Cooney family.
Before its own spirit was old enough, Boann built its name with The Whistler range: Irish whiskeys sourced from other distilleries and finished in a variety of wine casks. Buyers will meet The Whistler Double Oaked, the 5 Year Old Bodega Cask, the Oloroso Cask and the Mosaic Marsala Cask, as well as Madeira, P.X. and Marsala cask finishes.
The distillery now bottles its own single pot still whiskey, distilled on site in copper pot stills. Look for Boann Legacy Single Pot Still and young cask releases such as The Heart Cut, along with retailer exclusives like a 4 year old Oloroso cask bottling.
