Kingsbarns whisky comes from the Kingsbarns distillery on the Fife coast, a few miles from St Andrews. The distillery was built in a restored farm steading and began producing spirit in the mid-2010s. It is owned by the Wemyss family, who also run the independent bottler Wemyss Malts.
The brand is distilled, matured and bottled under the same ownership. The house style is light and fruity. It is built on barley grown in Fife and on a spirit cut aimed at freshness rather than weight.
The first general release was Dream to Dram, a young single malt, here also found in a gift pack with two glasses. Doocot takes its name from the old dovecote at the distillery, which also appears on the label. Bell Rock and Coaltown widen the range. The 10 Year Old marks the distillery's growing stock of older whisky.
Collectors will also find single cask releases, including 4 and 5 year old sherry casks sold under their cask numbers, as well as distillery-only bottlings such as Distillery Reserve 2021.
