Quinta do Crasto is an estate on the steep, terraced slopes of the Douro Valley in northern Portugal, the region where Port is made. It is owned and run by the Roquette family and produces both unfortified Douro wines and Port.
Port is not whisky, but it matters to whisky buyers: many Scotch and world whiskies are finished in casks that once held Port, which adds red fruit, sweetness and colour. Port itself is a wine fortified with grape spirit during fermentation, which stops the fermentation and keeps natural sweetness.
The Quinta do Crasto range here covers the main Port styles. Vintage Ports from single years (2015 to 2019 in our catalogue) are bottled young and built to age in bottle. The Tawny Port 10 Years Old and 20 Years Old are aged longer in wood for nutty, dried-fruit flavours, the Colheita 2003 is a single-harvest tawny, and the Finest Reserve is the more everyday style.
Our catalogue also lists bottles from Quinta do Infantado, a separate Douro estate, including its 20 Years Old Tawny and the Reserva Dona Margarida and Reserva Especial Ports.
