Über Eagle Rare

Eagle Rare was introduced by Seagram in 1975 as a 10 year old bourbon. The Sazerac Company bought the brand in 1989, and it is now distilled, aged and bottled at the Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky.
It is made from Buffalo Trace's low-rye bourbon mash bill, the same family of recipes behind several of the distillery's best-known names. The style is rounded and oak-driven, with toffee, orange peel and leather notes that come from long ageing in new charred oak.
The core release is Eagle Rare 10 Year Old, which buyers will also see as barrel select and retailer exclusive bottlings. A 12 year old has appeared in some markets.
Older expressions are rare and sought after. Eagle Rare 17 Year Old is released each year as part of the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection, and Double Eagle Very Rare is a 20 year old bottling in a decanter, issued in small editions.
