Linkwood stands on the outskirts of Elgin in Speyside and dates from the early 19th century. It is owned by Diageo, and most of what it makes goes into the company's blends rather than into official single malt bottlings.
The house style is light, clean and floral, often with notes of cut grass, orchard fruit and a soft sweetness. That delicate spirit takes well to both bourbon and sherry casks, which is one reason it is a favourite of independent bottlers.
The main official bottling a buyer meets is the 12 year old in Diageo's Flora & Fauna range. Older official releases, such as the Distillery Labels 15 and 25 year olds, turn up from time to time.
Most Linkwood on the market comes from independent bottlers. Our catalogue lists bottlings from Gordon & MacPhail, Signatory Vintage (including its Cask Strength Collection), Douglas Laing (Old Particular), Berry Bros. & Rudd, Duncan Taylor, Càrn Mòr, James Eadie and That Boutique-y Whisky Company, as well as Symington's Choice, so there is plenty of choice in age, cask and strength.

About whiskies
Whisky (or whiskey) is a distilled alcoholic beverage made from fermented grain mash. Various grains are used including barley, corn, rye, and wheat. Whisky is typically aged in wooden casks, which gives it its distinctive color and complex flavor profile.
Each bottling represents a unique expression with specific characteristics like age, cask type, and alcohol strength.
