About The Blended Whisky Company

The Blended Whisky Company is an independent bottler that works only with blends. It belongs to the same group as Master of Malt and That Boutique-y Whisky Company, and it brought that group's playful, batch-by-batch approach to blended Scotch.
It does not distil. It buys existing stocks of malt and grain whisky and vats them into small batches. Each release is numbered, so Batch 4 and Batch 11 of the same blend can differ noticeably.
The best-known range is The Lost Distilleries Blend, made from whisky distilled at Scottish distilleries that are now closed or demolished. Other series lean on age and rarity: The Half-Century Blend and The Golden Age Blend 55 Year Old use very old whisky, while The XXX Blend and The XL Blend are further batch-numbered experiments.
These are limited bottlings, so a given batch can be hard to find once it sells out. Check the batch number when comparing prices.
