About George T. Stagg
George T. Stagg is an uncut, unfiltered barrel-proof Kentucky bourbon from Buffalo Trace, released once a year as part of the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection.

George T. Stagg is a straight Kentucky bourbon made at the Buffalo Trace distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky, which is owned by Sazerac. It takes its name from George T. Stagg, a 19th-century whiskey merchant who once owned the distillery.
The bourbon is part of the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection, a set of limited releases that appears each autumn. It is bottled at barrel proof, without dilution or chill filtration, so the strength changes from year to year and is usually very high. It is typically aged for around 15 years, which gives a dense, oak-rich style.
Buyers will see annual releases, such as the Bourbon (2015 Release), listed by year. The younger, also barrel-proof Stagg (formerly Stagg Jr) is more widely available and is a common way to try the style. Because releases are limited, prices often sit well above the suggested retail price.
