About St. George Spirits

St. George Spirits is a craft distillery in Alameda, California, known for its American single malt, the Baller single malt and Breaking & Entering whiskey, as well as gins and eaux de vie.

Country
US
Region
California
Founded
1982

St. George Spirits works from a former naval aircraft hangar in Alameda, on San Francisco Bay. It began as a fruit brandy distillery and was one of the early American craft distillers to make single malt whiskey.

Its whiskeys are distilled and bottled in Alameda. St George Baller Single Malt Whiskey is a lighter malt made with highballs in mind, finished in casks that held a house-made ume (Japanese plum) liqueur. St. George Breaking & Entering American Whiskey is a blend of whiskeys from other American distilleries, chosen and blended by the St. George team.

A note for buyers: several ranges listed under this name in our catalogue, such as the numbered Chapter releases, English Gold, Founders Private Cellar and Diamond Jubilee 2012, belong to a different producer. They come from St. George's Distillery in Norfolk, home of The English Whisky Co., which shares the name but has no link to the Californian distillery. Check the label before you buy.
