Midleton is the top-shelf brand of Irish Distillers, part of Pernod Ricard. It takes its name from the town in County Cork where the new Midleton Distillery opened in 1975, beside the old distillery buildings. The same distillery makes Jameson, Powers and the Redbreast single pot still whiskeys.
The best known bottling is Midleton Very Rare, first released in 1984 and issued each year since as a vintage release. It is a blend of pot still and grain whiskey from the distillery's own stocks, and each bottle carries the year and the signature of the master distiller. Older releases, such as the 1984 first edition, are sought after by collectors.
Around it sit smaller series. The Barry Crockett Legacy is a single pot still whiskey named after the long-serving master distiller. Dair Ghaelach is single pot still whiskey finished in casks of virgin Irish oak, with each batch tied to a named forest and individual trees. Our catalogue also lists editions such as the Forêt de Tronçais releases.
All Midleton whiskey is distilled, matured and bottled by Irish Distillers. Independent bottlings under the Midleton name are very rare.

About whiskies
Whisky (or whiskey) is a distilled alcoholic beverage made from fermented grain mash. Various grains are used including barley, corn, rye, and wheat. Whisky is typically aged in wooden casks, which gives it its distinctive color and complex flavor profile.
Each bottling represents a unique expression with specific characteristics like age, cask type, and alcohol strength.
