About Trois Rivieres

Trois Rivières is a rhum agricole from the south of Martinique, made from fresh sugar cane juice and sold as white rhum, amber rhum and aged rhums.

Country
France (Martinique)
Region
Martinique
Owner
La Martiniquaise-Bardinet

Trois Rivières takes its name from an old sugar estate near Sainte-Luce on the south coast of Martinique. It makes rhum agricole, distilled from fresh sugar cane juice rather than molasses, under the Martinique appellation.

The original distillery on the estate stopped working some years ago, and the rhum is now distilled at the La Mauny distillery nearby. Both brands belong to the La Martiniquaise-Bardinet group.

The range starts with unaged white rhums, sold here as Blanc and Rhum Blanc Agricole, and the Cuvée de l'Océan, a white made from cane grown near the sea. Amber styles include the Pavé Ambré and the Double Wood Rhum Ambré.

For aged rhum, buyers will find the VSOP Réserve Spéciale and the Vieux 12 Years Old, which show the drier, grassy character of agricole rhum alongside the oak.
