About Dzama

Region
Nosy Be

Dzama is a rum, not a whisky, and comes from Madagascar. Its home is Nosy Be, an island off the north-west coast known for sugar cane, vanilla and spices. Those local ingredients shape much of what the brand bottles.

The core of the range is aged and white rum. Cuvee Noire is its darker, aged style. Cuvee Blanche Prestige and Nosy-Be Blanc Prestige are its white rums. The Maki line, with Maki Ambre and Maki L'Authentique Blanc, offers a further amber and white pair.

Dzama is also well known for its arrangés, rums infused with fruit and spice in the style of the Indian Ocean islands. Buyers will meet flavours such as Citronnelle, Gingembre, Leetche, Ecorce d'Orange Cannelle and combinations built around Madagascan vanilla. A few older vintage bottlings, such as the Lucien Fohine 1984/2012 Nosy-Be, also turn up for collectors.
