Glen Elgin stands just south of Elgin in Speyside, close to Longmorn. It was built at the end of the 1890s, at the close of the Victorian whisky boom, and is owned today by Diageo. Much of its spirit has long gone into blends, above all White Horse.
The distillery runs small pot stills condensed in traditional worm tubs, and its spirit is unpeated. The style is fruity and honeyed, with a medium body, and it sits well in both refill and sherry casks.
The main official bottling is the 12 Year Old, first released in the Flora and Fauna series and later sold more widely. Beyond that, independent bottlers are the best way to explore the distillery at different ages and strengths.
In our catalogue you will find Gordon & MacPhail's Connoisseurs Choice, Douglas Laing's Old Particular, Signatory Vintage's Cask Strength Collection, Càrn Mòr's Strictly Limited, The Single Cask, That Boutique-y Whisky Company, Adelphi and Alistair Walker's Infrequent Flyers, along with wine cask editions such as a Syrah finish.

About whiskies
Whisky (or whiskey) is a distilled alcoholic beverage made from fermented grain mash. Various grains are used including barley, corn, rye, and wheat. Whisky is typically aged in wooden casks, which gives it its distinctive color and complex flavor profile.
Each bottling represents a unique expression with specific characteristics like age, cask type, and alcohol strength.
