Miltonduff stands just south of Elgin in Speyside, on land once linked to Pluscarden Abbey. It was founded in 1824 and today belongs to Chivas Brothers, the Scotch whisky arm of Pernod Ricard.
Most of its spirit goes into blends, above all Ballantine's. The house style is light, fruity and floral, a classic Speyside malt that takes well to both bourbon and sherry casks.
From 1964 to 1981 the distillery also ran Lomond stills, which produced a different, heavier malt sold as Mosstowie. Bottles of Mosstowie are now rare and sought after by collectors.
Official bottlings have been few, such as the older 10 Year Old and the 5 and 12 year olds from the 1970s and 1980s. Most bottles a buyer meets come from independent bottlers: Gordon & MacPhail's Connoisseurs Choice, Signatory Vintage, Duncan Taylor, Cadenhead, Berry Bros. & Rudd, Old Malt Cask, Provenance and the Infrequent Flyers series.

About whiskies
Whisky (or whiskey) is a distilled alcoholic beverage made from fermented grain mash. Various grains are used including barley, corn, rye, and wheat. Whisky is typically aged in wooden casks, which gives it its distinctive color and complex flavor profile.
Each bottling represents a unique expression with specific characteristics like age, cask type, and alcohol strength.
