Jack Daniel's is made at its distillery in Lynchburg, Tennessee, and is owned by Brown-Forman. The brand dates its registration to 1866. It is one of the most widely sold American whiskeys in the world.
The whiskey is made from a mash of mostly corn with some rye and malted barley. What makes it Tennessee whiskey is the Lincoln County Process: the new spirit is filtered through sugar maple charcoal before it goes into new charred oak barrels. This gives the house style its soft, sweet, slightly sooty character.
Most buyers meet Old No.7, the classic black label. Gentleman Jack is charcoal mellowed a second time after maturation for a smoother profile. Single Barrel bottlings come from individual barrels, Bonded is a stronger bottled-in-bond release, and the Tennessee Rye uses a rye-heavy mash.
The range also includes flavoured products such as Tennessee Honey, Tennessee Fire, Apple and Blackberry. These are whiskey-based liqueurs or flavoured spirits rather than straight whiskey, and are often bottled below standard whiskey strength. Limited series such as Tennessee Travelers and Scenes From Lynchburg appear alongside the core range.

About whiskies
Whisky (or whiskey) is a distilled alcoholic beverage made from fermented grain mash. Various grains are used including barley, corn, rye, and wheat. Whisky is typically aged in wooden casks, which gives it its distinctive color and complex flavor profile.
Each bottling represents a unique expression with specific characteristics like age, cask type, and alcohol strength.
