Buffalo Trace bourbon is made at the distillery of the same name on the Kentucky River in Frankfort, Kentucky. The site has a long history of distilling under earlier names, including the George T. Stagg distillery, and took the name Buffalo Trace when the flagship bourbon was launched in 1999. It belongs to the Sazerac Company.

The flagship Buffalo Trace Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is made from a mash of corn with a modest share of rye and malted barley. It is widely available and often a starting point for people discovering bourbon.

The distillery also makes the wheated Weller bourbons, which explains bottles such as Weller Millennium and Daniel Weller Emmer Wheat Recipe in our catalogue. The Kosher Wheat Recipe and Rye Recipe bottlings are bourbons produced under kosher supervision.

For curious drinkers, the Experimental Collection releases small batches that test one change at a time, such as grain, wood or barrel entry proof. The Peated Malt release is one example.
