Fettercairn distillery stands in the village of Fettercairn, at the foot of the Grampian hills in the eastern Highlands. It was founded in 1824 and today belongs to Whyte & Mackay, for whom it has long been a source of malt for blends as well as its own single malt.

Its best known feature is on the spirit still: cold water runs down the outside of the still neck from a ring at the top, cooling the vapour and increasing reflux. This helps give Fettercairn its lighter, fruity character, often with notes of tropical fruit, nuts and spice.

The official range includes aged bottlings such as the 16 Year Old, released in yearly editions, as well as the 28, 40 and 50 Year Old for collectors of older stock. Our catalogue also holds limited official releases such as the Vanguard Collectible.

Fettercairn is also widely bottled by independent bottlers. Buyers will find single casks and small batches from Signatory Vintage, Douglas Laing, Hunter Laing, Càrn Mòr, Langside's Hepburn's Choice, That Boutique-y Whisky Company, A.D. Rattray and the Alistair Walker Whisky Company, often at cask strength and at a wide range of ages.
