Teeling

The Teeling Whiskey Company was set up by brothers Jack and Stephen Teeling, whose family has a long history in Irish whiskey. In 2015 they opened their distillery in the Newmarket area of Dublin, bringing whiskey making back to a city that once had many distilleries. It is also a busy visitor centre.

The distillery works with three copper pot stills and makes single malt, single pot still and peated spirit. Teeling is known for experimenting with casks, often finishing whiskey in rum, wine and other barrels.

The core bottles a buyer meets are the Small Batch blend, finished in rum casks, the Single Malt, the Single Grain and the Pot Still. Blackpitts Peated is a peated single malt from the Dublin stills. Limited series include the Brabazon Bottling Series, the Wonders of Wood releases (such as one matured in virgin Swedish oak), the Revival volumes and Rising Reserve.

The oldest releases, like the 30 Year Old 1987 and the 1989 32 Year Old in the Vintage Reserve Collection, predate the Dublin distillery and were distilled elsewhere in Ireland before being selected and bottled by Teeling. Single casks are released by Teeling itself, and independent bottlings such as those from Drinks by the Dram also appear.
